THE CREAM ON THE ICE. A FAMILY DRIVE IN THE COUNTRY WITH A DIFFERENCE.

Car racing in winter? Yes, it’s a thing – and a very appealing one too. After all, guiding a car at competition pace over snow and ice demands bravery and skill. Which brings us to the Lungauring in Austria in early January 2018, where historic vehicles and more recent classics are lining up for the sixth running of an endurance race that packs quite a punch. Running for four hours straight here is a hugely stressful undertaking for both man and machine; you’ll need good preparation and a little luck to be successful in this environment. But the fun factor is immense. The Raab family have brought a brace of E30 3 Series sedans for the job in hand, hoping to build on the experience gained on previous visits. » read more

FROM DUSK TILL DAWN. AN EXCLUSIVE NIGHT AT THE BMW MUSEUM.

Wouldn’t it be great to have the BMW Museum all to yourself, just for once? The chance to admire, enjoy and snap away to your heart’s content, all in peace and quiet. THREE BROTHERS. ONE BRAND.

Some decisions last a lifetime, many extending a family tradition. For three brothers, it soon became clear that the cars they would drive when they grew up would bear the same badge – a certain blue-and-white propeller – as those that hauled them around as youngsters. Between them, the brothers are now proud owners of seven models sporting the BMW logo. Adding their parents’ cars to the total, the Pfister family can put their names to “ten of the best”. » read more

THE FAMILY GET-TOGETHER.

Sticking together is an important ingredient in every good family unit. So if a BMW drivers’ club happens to call itself La Familia, you can be sure that kinship will be a bit of a “thing”. La Familia’s annual jamboree welcomes all fans of the BMW brand – regardless of their preferred model – for a good old-fashioned knees-up. But partying alone is not enough for the “family members”; this event is also about raising a glass to those the spotlight sometimes neglects, such as the kids at the Sonnenhof children’s hospice run by the Björn Schulz Foundation. » read more
